National Review of First Nations Healthcare in Prisons: Final Report

This review acknowledges that it has been commissioned to examine a very specific challenge within the broader First Nations justice and health context.

It suggests that system change is needed to drive reform, that a national program of work needs to be driven by the National Partnership Agreement and must facilitate the leadership of the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector in designing and delivering partnerships.

It also recommends the piloting of alternative therapeutic models of custody for First Nations people.
