Australian Guidelines for assessment and Diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

These clinical guidelines have strong cultural foundations throughout. The cultural advisory team state ‘We acknowledge that many people may fear that including our Indigenous voices in guidelines such as these could serve to further stigmatise our community and reinforce beliefs that FASD is an “Aboriginal problem.” This could not be further from the truth, as where there is alcohol, there is the potential for FASD.
